Straight answers, including the awkward ones.

If something is genuinely a limitation, it says so here rather than in month three.

Getting started
What is ClockedIn One?

ClockedIn One is a cloud-based workforce management and HR platform. It combines employee records, attendance, shift rostering, leave, payroll preparation, reporting, employee self-service and visitor management in a single system, with separate admin and employee experiences and role-based access throughout.

Who is ClockedIn One built for?

Organisations that run shifts, multiple sites, or a mix of office, remote and field staff. It is used across manufacturing, healthcare, retail, logistics, hospitality, education, construction, professional services and IT, from around 50 employees to several thousand.

How quickly can we go live?

Days rather than months for a standard configuration. The realistic answer depends on how clean your employee, site and skill data is — we will tell you honestly after seeing it. Data migration is included.

Do you offer a free trial or demo?

Yes. Book a 30-minute demo and we will run it against your own rota rather than a canned dataset. The Starter plan can be started as a free trial.

Is training included?

Yes. Admin training, employee onboarding materials and documentation are included with every plan, plus white-glove migration support.

Attendance and rostering
Which biometric devices are supported?

Fingerprint, RFID card and facial-recognition terminals are supported, managed centrally from the device list. Attendance can also be captured by web punch with camera and GPS, or by mobile beacon, so hardware is optional.

Can employees punch in from a mobile phone?

Yes. The native mobile app supports punch with camera and GPS, and beacon-based authorisation for field and site work. Managers can approve punches from mobile too.

How are attendance exceptions handled?

Missing or mismatched punches are flagged automatically against the roster. Employees raise a regularisation request from self-service, and it routes through your approval chain — so only genuine exceptions reach a manager.

Does it handle overnight and split shifts?

Yes. Rosters support rotating, split and overnight cross-day shifts, along with week-off, leave and holiday awareness, and 24/7/365 operation.

Can employees swap shifts?

Yes. Employees can request a swap with a colleague, mark themselves unavailable for a shift, and accept or decline shifts offered by a manager, all from the mobile app.

Payroll and leave
Is payroll linked to attendance?

Yes — that is the point. Approved attendance flows straight into payroll calculation with no re-keying, which is where most payroll errors originate.

Can we configure our own leave policies?

Yes. Accrual rules, tenure-based entitlements, attendance-based accrual, per-employee overrides, holiday sets and weekend logic are all configurable without code.

Do employees get their own payslips?

Yes. Employees download month-wise PDF payslips from self-service, which removes a large share of routine HR requests.

Can we handle advance salary requests?

Yes. Advance salary requests are raised, approved and reflected in the payroll cycle.

Security and data
How is our data secured?

Each tenant is isolated by company and subdomain, access is controlled by role down to individual features, multi-factor authentication is available, and policy and status changes are written to an audit trail.

Do you support single sign-on?

Yes. Okta and SAML-based SSO are supported on the Enterprise plan, alongside Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 identity sync.

Is there an audit trail?

Yes. Policy assignments, employment status changes and attendance events are all logged with attribution, and the event sheet report gives auditors a tamper-evident history.

Pricing and support
How is ClockedIn One priced?

Per active employee, per month. Starter is $4 per user per month, Professional is $8, and Enterprise is quoted based on scale, integrations and custom work.

Are there setup fees?

Onboarding and data migration are included. Custom development is quoted separately with fixed pricing agreed before any build starts.

Can we change plans later?

Yes, plans can be changed as you grow, and billing follows active employee count.

Is there an API?

Yes. A fully documented REST API is available, and custom integrations to any REST-based system can be built.

Still have a question?

Ask it directly — you will get a real answer within a working day.
